Election Day Freebies 2026: Free Krispy Kreme Doughnut, BOGO Subs & Half-Off Rides to the Polls (Nov 3)
Election Day lands on National Sandwich Day this year, so Tuesday, November 3 is stacked: a free Krispy Kreme doughnut, half-price Lyft and free Lime rides to the polls, free transit in more than a dozen cities, and a long list of BOGO and $5 sandwich deals from Subway, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse Subs, Potbelly and more. Here is every offer we could confirm with the brands, with the codes and the fine print.
Free and discounted rides to the polls
- Lyft: 50% off one ride, up to $10, code VOTE26. Add the code in the Lyft app before Tuesday. It works on one car, scooter or Lyft bikeshare ride that ends at a polling place (or a ballot drop box where your state uses them), from 5 AM to 10 PM local time on November 3. Black and Black SUV are excluded, tips are not discounted, and it is one code per rider. Lyft’s voting access page has the details.
- Lime: two free 30-minute bike or scooter rides, code VOTE26. Enter the code in the Lime app and ride to a polling place, early voting site or drop box through November 3. Trips must start and end inside a Lime service zone, normal rates apply after 30 minutes, and it cannot be combined with LimePrime or group rides. Lime’s partner markets also accept the code HEADCOUNT. Check the Lime app for your city.
- Free public transit. These agencies have announced fare-free service on November 3 on their own sites: LA Metro and Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus, Houston METRO, DART in Dallas, Trinity Metro in Fort Worth, CapMetro in Austin, Cincinnati Metro, SMART in the Detroit suburbs, MAX Transit in Birmingham, The COMET in Columbia SC, Mountain Line in Morgantown, Hampton Roads Transit, RTD in Denver, the Maryland Transit Administration, North County Transit District in San Diego County and Marin Transit. A few have conditions (DART asks to see your voter card, Houston METRO asks for voter ID), so check your agency’s site before you board.
- Renting a car? Hertz is giving one free base-rate day on a two-day-plus rental through November 3.

Good to know
- Load the ride codes into the Lyft and Lime apps tonight. Both are single-use, and the Lyft one only works between 5 AM and 10 PM local time on Tuesday.
- Nearly every sandwich deal needs the chain’s free rewards account and an app or website order, so sign up before Tuesday rather than in line.
- Krispy Kreme’s doughnut is one per person at participating shops while they last; the chain also hands out its own “I Voted” stickers.
- Polling hours vary by state. Vote first, then collect the doughnut.
- The Subway BOGO (through November 8), the Farmer Boys melt (November 4) and the DoorDash Pepsi code (November 4) are the only ones that outlast Election Day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an “I Voted” sticker to get the free Krispy Kreme doughnut?
Krispy Kreme says to show your sticker or simply tell the team you voted. Early and mail-in voters count too. It is one Original Glazed doughnut per person at participating shops on November 3, while supplies last, and no purchase is needed.
Is the Lyft ride to the polls free?
No, it is 50% off one ride, capped at $10, with code VOTE26 between 5 AM and 10 PM local time on November 3. The ride has to end at a polling place or an official ballot drop box. Lime’s offer is the fully free one: two 30-minute bike or scooter rides with the same code.
Are these deals available everywhere?
The national chains (Krispy Kreme, Subway, Jimmy John’s, Firehouse Subs, Potbelly, Lyft, DoorDash) run their offers at participating locations across the U.S. Eat’n Park is regional, Lime depends on which cities it operates in, and free transit is agency by agency, so check the list above for your city.
