With people staying home to slow the spread of COVID-19, many of us are driving a lot less. This means less time spent on the roads and ultimately fewer accidents.

Due to a nationwide decline in driving, many insurers are finding ways to compensate their policyholders by offering them credits, refunds, and various methods of payment relief.

Allstate & Esurance

  • Allstate and Esurance (an Allstate company) are offering a Shelter-In-Place Payback, which will result in most customers being reimbursed about 15% on their monthly premiums for April, May, and June.
  • This refund will be automatically returned to the original form of payment, applied as a credit to your account, or issued in a check, depending on how you have your payment preferences set.
  • Policyholders can also get free identity protection for the rest of the year through the Allstate app. U.S. residents can receive this benefit when they sign up by May 31, regardless of whether they’re already an Allstate customer.
  • Auto, home, and powersport insurance customers facing financial challenges can also request payment relief that delays payments for 60 days with no penalty.
  • Allstate and Esurance will now automatically cover customers who use their personal vehicles to deliver food, medicine, and other goods for commercial purposes during the COVID-19 crisis. This protection will be added to policies in all states for the duration of each state’s COVID-19 emergency order. No further action is required on your part.
